Brent Brown - Inspirational Jazz Bassist
Bio:
“Jaco Pastorius meets the heart and soul of gospel music!” This is just one of the many statements used to describe the sound of Inspirational Jazz Bassist Brent Brown and his newest project, New Thang! A Music major out of Five Towns College in Merrick, New York, Brent has played with such notable artists as Charles Steward, Bishop Jeff Blanks, Elisha “Atlas” Parris, and the New Jersey Mass Choir. He lends a “singing” quality to his approach in playing the bass guitar, with a soulful melody that thrusts him into the ranks of Stanley Clark and Marcus Miller. As music director for the Avenue D Boys Choir, Brent has traveled abroad to various locations, performing with and mentoring the group as they emerge on the music scene. He currently has plans to produce a CD with Avenue D in 2009, and will continue touring in Italy, France during the summer. Brent also plays in jazz circuits all across America, delivering his unique style to thousands of fans each year. Brent is an ordained minister in The Churches of God by Faith, Inc., and currently serves as Minister of Music at Love Temple Church in Stuart, Florida. In 2006, he used his musical prowess to produce the independent project of Love Temple Mass Choir entitled “Sacrifice of Praise”.
